Plans for the Upcoming Week

Below is a schedule of what the upcoming week should look like! That being said, learning can always be flexible. As a result, days may look a little different if one topic takes longer or shorter than the amount of time provided.

Week of September 9th, 2019 to September 13th, 2019:

Monday, September 9th  -  What Do You Know?

This will be used as a review of what the students remember from grade 6. We will discuss strategies and tools that will help the students succeed. This is where I can learn how the students like to learn, and what will put them in the best position to excel. By discovering what they were able to remember from grade 6, as well as their preferred learning structure, I will be able to construct future lessons that will provide them with an optimal learning environment.

Tuesday, September 10th  -  What Do You Know? Continued!

This discovery period generally lasts longer than one day - as discussions tend to blossom from questions and concerns.

Wednesday, September 11th  -  Introduction into Number Sense and Numeration

We will be diving into decimals and fractions, and talking about a variety of tools and strategies that can be used to help us compare, represent, and place them in order.

Thursday, September 12th  -  Number Sense and Numeration

We will continue on decimals and fractions, further discovering which tools and strategies we find to be the most effective for our individual learning.

Friday, September 13th  -  Introduction to Fun Friday!

Fridays will be used to try and remind the students that math is found all around us, and can even be fun! I will be introducing the students to board games, card games, and computer games that all involve math. These games can then be introduced to you at home, to help the students further improve their skills!
